Stay Unique arrives in Athens: our first destination outside Spain

Guests | 20.05.2026

We're thrilled to share the news: Stay Unique is now in Athens. The Greek capital becomes our first international destination, and we couldn't have picked a better place to start.

Why Athens?

Athens is a city that has it all. Thousands of years of history, incredible food, neighbourhoods bursting with character and an energy you feel from the moment you arrive. In recent years it has become one of Europe's most sought-after destinations, and it's easy to see why.

Few cities blend ancient and modern the way Athens does. You can have breakfast with views of the Acropolis, wander the streets of Plaka at noon and end the day on a rooftop terrace with a cocktail watching the sunset over the city. All on foot.

Psyrri: the most authentic neighbourhood in Athens

Our three buildings are in Psyrri, one of the most vibrant and characterful neighbourhoods in Athens. Once an artisan district, today it's the bohemian heart of the city: streets covered in street art, craft shops, terraces with live music and some of the best restaurants and bars in town.

Psyrri is a 5-minute walk from Monastiraki, 15 minutes from Plaka and 20 minutes from the Acropolis. Two metro stations are just a stroll away (Monastiraki and Thissio), connecting you to the rest of the city in minutes. It's the perfect base to explore Athens without relying on transport.

What to see and do near our apartments

  • The Acropolis and the Parthenon (20 min walk)

No introduction needed. The Acropolis is the symbol of Athens and one of the most important monuments in the world. Our tip: go early in the morning to avoid the crowds and enjoy the sunrise light over the Parthenon.

  • The Ancient Agora (5 min walk)

Once the political and social hub of ancient Athens. Today it's a park full of history where you'll find the Temple of Hephaestus, one of the best-preserved Greek temples. It's literally next door to our apartments.

  • Monastiraki and its flea market (5 min walk)

Monastiraki Square is pure energy: shops, street stalls and direct views of the Acropolis. On Sundays the flea market fills up with antiques, vinyl records, vintage clothing and all sorts of curiosities.

  • Plaka (15 min walk)

The oldest neighbourhood in Athens. A maze of cobblestone streets with traditional tavernas, souvenir shops and hidden corners. Perfect for an unhurried stroll ending with dinner on a terrace with a view.

  • Evripidou Street: the spice street

Just steps from Psyrri, this street is a sensory journey. Spice shops, herbs, teas and Greek saffron blend with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. If you love food, this is a must.

  • The Acropolis Museum (12 min walk)

One of the best museums in Europe. Modern, bright and home to a collection that makes you grasp the sheer scale of ancient Greece. Beneath the museum lies an excavated archaeological site visible through the glass floor.

  • Mount Lycabettus

The best panoramic view of Athens. You can hike up or take the funicular. At sunset it's magical — you can see the entire city, the sea and on clear days even the islands of the Saronic Gulf.

Eating in Athens

Athens is a paradise for food lovers, and Psyrri is one of the best neighbourhoods to experience it. From street souvlaki to restaurants serving contemporary Greek cuisine, there's something for every taste and budget.

Don't leave without trying a homemade moussaka, fresh gyros, a proper Greek salad with real feta and loukoumades for dessert — Greek honey doughnuts made to order.

Athens is waiting for you

If you've always wanted to visit Greece, now is the time. And if you already know it, you know there's always a reason to come back.

The same experience you already know from Barcelona, Málaga, Seville and Tenerife — now also in Athens.
