For a long time it was a relatively poor area and home to some of Barcelona’s most destitute residents. Today, Poble Sec is making a name for itself as an up-and-coming corner of town with a great food scene. As a multicultural and working-class neighbourhood, Poble-sec maintains a popular character and varied culture, and it is open to all those who want to go and take a look. Its main arteries are Carrer Blai, which is like a little "rambla" packed with bars and shops in equal measure, and Plaça del Sortidor, where a young Joan Manel Serrat used to play and now you can find the neighbourhood civic centre, which has been very active in recent years.
Getting around
Several buses and Metro Station (L3 and L2) are close by. Also the Plaza Espana is in walking distance, a junction for public transport. 15 minutes walk from La Rambla, Plaza España and the port. Very close to Carrer de Blai - a nice street with tons of delicious tapas bars, restaurants and cafés!
From the airport to the apartment is easiest by taxi, we can help you book one in advance. An other way to reach the apartment is by airport shuttle to Placa d'Espana and from there the metro to Poble Sec metro station and from there a short walk to the apartment.
